The position was f, Saturday to Thursday each week and from generally 10am – 7pm, the mother of the home was out for the majority of the time that Swarna was there so she took sole charge of the 3 children on a daily basis, she would arrange for the babies, feeds, bath and bed time and implanted a good sleeping pattern for her. In the afternoon they would take part in lots of activities such as art and craft, drawing and painting, sticking, reading, singing and going to the local park, when mum was at home Swarna would take charge of the housekeeping of the families large 5 bed roomed home, taking charge of the laundry and ironing. The role ended in Dec 2010 as the family are relocating to America for 2 years. We have received a written reference from this family who have described Swarna as trustworthy, responsible and a very caring and loyal lady. | | Feb 2007 – Aug 2008 | Vauxhall | A full time live out role for a family with one little boy aged 9 months when Swarna started with them, the mother was also expecting and due in the next 2 months, so a newborn joined them shortly after her start, then mum had another newborn in July 2008. The role was from 9am – 6pm Monday to Friday and Swarna took shared care with mum to take charge of the children’s personal routines and needs, from feeding arranging bottles, changing, preparing meals and introducing weaning, she would take the children out to the park and play groups and they would sing and read a lot at home, Swarna was also in charge of the general housekeeping and cleaning of the families 4 bed roomed home laundry and ironing and each evening she would cook for the whole family from scratch. The role ended when the family were not offering Swarna the agreed salary. We have received a written reference from this family who have described Swarna as very reliable, extremely honest and hardworking. | | 2006 – 2007 | St Johns Wood | A part time live out role for an English Jewish family with one 2 year old and a newborn baby when Swarna began with them, Swarna was employed from 9am – 3pm to cover the main part of the day and worked with mum to take charge of the general housekeeping and cleaning of the families 5 bed roomed 4 storey home, she would make the beds, take charge of the laundry and ironing, shopping and cooking and would assist mum in caring for the 2 children taking sole charge of several hours each day, preparing foods, arranging sleep times and preparing bottles and feeds, they would also go on to the park and to play groups and play dates when mum had plans in the day time, The role ended as Swarna needed a full time role. We have received a written reference from this family who have described her as extremely flexible, cooperative and hardworking. | | Nov 2002 – Feb 2006 | Walsall | A full time live in role for a family of doctors, the couple of the home were expecting their first baby and when they had their daughter Swarna took sole charge of her when the mother returned to full time work, the role was generally 7am -11pm Monday to Saturday and as well as taking sole charge of the families child and her daily routine, she also took charge of the families housekeeping and cleaning of their 4 bed roomed home, laundry and ironing and shopping, she also was the part time housekeeper for the parents of her employer who lives in the same area, she would take their daughter when she was sleeping over to the home each day and take charge of the cleaning and housekeeping of their 5 bed roomed home , laundry and ironing, in the evening time she would cook for the couple from scratch and they taught her how to make several Indian dishes from scratch. The role ended when Swarna asked to be realised at the weekends to attend an English course to help her with her language skills and the family were unhappy to do this. Swarna left the role and moved to London and took on the course and paid for this though sales work based in a Sri Lankan tourist store until she finished the course and found a new role in 2006. We have received a written reference from this family who have described Swarna as dedicated and trustworthy. | | 1997 – 2002 | Kuwait | A full time live in role for a family with one little girl aged 18 months when she started and throughout their time wit them the family went on to have another 3 newborns close together, Swarna was in sole charge of the children and she worked 24 hours a day when needed, each morning she would start at 6am and finish when the children were settles, however she shared her room with all of the children and would wake with them in the night time, the role was to take charge of the children’s needs from feeding, preparing bottles, cooking fresh meals and arranging all the children’s meal times and bath and bed time, catering for all their different ages and stages, she would wean and potty train all of the children, take care of the school runs and arranging activities for the children such as art and craft, singing, reading, art and craft and going to the playground. Swarna also takes charge of the housekeeping of the families large 6 bed roomed home, laundry and ironing for the first 2 years taking charge of the whole running of the home, in 1999 the family hired a full time housekeeper and a assistant for Swarna to help with the children, In 2002 the family relocated to England and Swarna came with them. Several months later she left them as the family were unable to reduce her hours. |
