About Nanny-Housekeepers
General Information
The majority of our Nanny-Housekeepers are Filipino. They are well known all around the world for their hard working personalities and loyalty. Most of them work many years for the same employer, not only taking care of children, but also doing the housework. Happy Home Staff’s Filipino nanny-housekeepers generally have at least 4 years experience, from Singapore or Hong Kong, where they have worked for employers from Asia or Western Europe.
Duties
A nanny-housekeeper is expected to be able to take complete charge of the children including all tasks relating to the children’s well-being, e.g. washing, ironing, cooking and potty training. He/she can be expected to carry out general housework beyond taking care of the children’s rooms and belongings, obviously in reasonable order.
Qualifications
Some Filipinos have nurse or midwifery training. They also should hold First Aid Certificate (can be obtained once they're already in the UK).
Nanny-Housekeeper salary
Nanny-housekeepers expect to be paid at least GBP350-450 a week for a full time Live-in Position. For Live-out this rises to GBP400-500.
Working Hours
Live in nanny-housekeepers work approximately 10 hours a day plus 2 evenings of babysitting. They must have at least one and a half days off during the week.
Our Verification Procedure
Perhaps the most important aspect of our work is the verification around our applicants. We take this seriously and set a high standard in our process.
- Require a minimum of 2 proofs of identity (no photocopies), one of which must have a recent photograph.
- Verify their qualifications
- Verify their Visa status, if necessary
- Verify references.
- Require a police check.
- As well as the formal checks, we will interview the applicants and will use our knowledge skills and experience to gauge their suitability for a position.
